I am sitting out on my veranda looking out across Honolulu Harbour For the last four days I have been blowing away all the nose tissue on the Noordam. Head cold, not Covid, but a doozy.
Yes I should be exploring beautiful Honolulu. I’m still too wiped.
Yesterday at sea a wandering albatross visited off the starboard bow. Wow! Their wingspan is, like, 12 feet. And lagniappe, it’s a lifer for me.
Since I hold an ABC card—that’s America’s Boating Club, the course that Power Squadron offers, I am authorized to look at boats in the harbor. Right?
One of the tugboats, Pilani, was built by Foss, the shipyard in Tacoma. Foss waterway is historic.
I was thinking that Pilani was getting lots of jobs. Then two identical tugs, both named Pilani came by escorting an oiler to dock were both named Pilani, so I guess that’s the company running Foss tugs.
I hear others sneezing out here (and I always yell gedsundheit) so I’m not the only one with a head cold.
